bobriley
I have a SJ-200 Historic Collection. Can anyone tell me about the design and contruction methods & materials of this quitar. Also, how does it differ with a SJ-200 True Vintage? Thanks for any help.
StijnV
An SJ-200 is in principle always a guitar from the historical collection, as it's one of the guitar models that were in production already for a long time, like also the J-45 for example. A True Vintage model is a model of which the custom shop has recreated an SJ-200 from the old days, most of the time of one particular year, after an example from a collector. The details have been painstakingly recreated in those models. A historical collection model may be a historical model, but with modern features. pfox14
I believe that all the "True Vintage" examples are built using original guitars that are copied (they may even do X-Rays and CatScans of the original instruments), plus using original materials including thinner bracing and hide glue throughout. I don't think the "Historic Collection" did this. Not 100% sure.
