spooki1
Can it be done? and how? Looks to me like the mounting is all different. Thanks to all for your help so far. I'm a new member and think this site rocks.
Stevie Nazarenie
a mini humbucker rout is smaller than a soapbar so it would need to be routed...
stein
It depends on the guitar as to what the route will be like, as well as the mounting. Mini-humbucks are smaller than the P-90, but many guitars that use the mini-humbucks are mounted in a ring made to fit a P-90 route.
Stevie Nazarenie
i just looked at a deluxe les paul copy i have. i drew around the mini route and the screw holes seem to be slightly outside the p90. these may be on show unless you fill and respray. an alternative is to route the mini to a humbucker and if it's sloppy it's hidden under the pickup rings then use p94's or similar... i did a part finished job on a humbucker to p90 conversion in which i filled the floor with ply and use epoxy putty around the outside of the route and re routed it filled in the screw holes the next job was to respray it...
