GibsonAK
I just purchased a Gibson 1931 L-O model guitar (is in the process of being shipped to me) and would like to hear from any of you about what gauge strings I should use. In reading up on the L-O, L-OO and L-1 models it appears that these guitars were constructed very lightweight and couldn't withstand the tension of heavy strings. Therefore, what string gauge best suit these model guitars? Thanks!
pfox14
I wouldn't use anything other than 12-53s on the L-0 - maybe 12-54s, but nothing heavier than that. You could also opt for 11s, but thats up to you.
