kcfireball Posted January 16, 2012 Share Posted January 16, 2012 I Have a 2011 54 Les Paul Custom Vos W/Bigsby and I would like to find out more about them. #1.Is the PLECK used on them? #2.What year did Gibson start using the Alnico v & P90 pickups on the remakes? #3.What year did they start the remake of the 54? #4.How many 54’s VOS W/Bigsby were made for the year of 2011? SweetMarie Posted January 16, 2012 Share Posted January 16, 2012 The 54 Custom RI always has an Alnico V and a P90--that's what makes it a 54 Custom RI. Gibson has reissued them periodically since 1954, mine is a 2000 and it seems lately they come out every other year or so in fairly limited numbers.
