geebake
I hope this is the appropriate place for this. I looked in the Custom Shop area and couldn't find anywhere that looked more appropriate. I'm looking at a really nice "Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Les Paul GC Electronics VOS" for sale locally. The specs say this guitar has coil tapping, a phase switch and a 'kill' switch. All 4 pots are push-pulls. The coil tapping and phase switches make perfect sense. However, I don't get the kill switch at all. It's in the position of the tone pot for the neck pickup. When down, turning the knob seems to have no affect. When it's pulled up, it seems to act as a tone control but in reverse. There seems to be no 'killing' at all. Either I don't understand the purpose of this switch and it's operation or it's not working right. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with any model Les Paul with a built in 'Kill' switch. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Greg
