plumburst
I have a Gibson Custom Art Historic LPR8F Figure Top, S.N. 811615. Does anyone know how I can find out when it was made or anything unique to these era and model Les Paul Reissues? Thanks!
CR9
It could be a 2001 or a 2011. A few photos may help. You could also remove the control cavity cover and look at the codes on the potentiometers and post the number to help with a date. I am "guessing" that it is a 2011 as I don't remember a 2001 as a 1958 with a figured top.
renegade6
As stated could be a 2001 or 2011 . I have a 2001 Figure Top and a pair of 2011 Figure Top (Chambered) R8s. Most noticeable difference is the control knobs on the 2001 are more of an amber color and the knob pointers are sharper. 2001 has 57 classic pickups and I think orange drop capacitors. 2011 has Burst Bucker 1 and 2 pickups with bumble bee caps. CR9
I believe the inlays on the 2001 would have rounded corners and the 2011 would have a sharper corner. Like renegade6 said, the caps would also be a clue. Rounded: Pointed:
