Sheraton "vs" Casino

First of all, hello everyone! I'm a new member and i'm from Brazil.

I'm almost (or not at all) not dignified of posting here. I actually have a strato (booo :stonesflying:) but i'm selling it to buy and semi-hollow or full hollow body. Why?! Well, i THINK (because I haven't the expertise to affirm) that that kind of guitar is more versatile for my kind of sound (jazz, rock, indie, eletronic) and my relationship with the strato isn't the more formidable. So, I did a research through Gretsch, Ibanez and Epiphones and get to that final: Sheraton vs. Casino.

Please, please, I know that the sound is different and depends on me, of what I wanna get... But around here we don't have many chances of testing instruments. So here's is the thing: i have the opportunity of buying a used Casino wich serial number is UO7040110 and the only Sheraton in my region is about U$100 more expensive and I don't have the serial number...

I'm saying all of this because I wanna know what do you think about the guitar... the construction, sound, specifics and character in general?!

moreover, I also was interested in a ea250 riviera japan from early 70, but I read somethin around the forum about being the Aria with Epiphone logo and the construction and quality isn't great. Proceed the information?! And, after said all that, somebody have others indications (or even others brands that I can research?!

thanks for you attention and patience! :)

Welcome Rafael. Of the guitars I own, my Casino is my second favorite. They are amazing guitars. I especially like the louder "unplugged" sound thay produce. Not quite as loud as an acoustic, but louder than even a semi-hollow. Great for sitting around and pickin'. Because there is no sound block (to speak of) in a Casino, they are also a little lighter. That being said, my next guitar (which would make 8) will almost certainly be a Sheraton. I don't think you could go wrong with either. I would say that which pickup type you prefer would probably tip the scale one way or the other. For me, it was the unplugged sound, the trapeze tailpiece and my favorite pickups, P-90s, that did it. If the Casino is $100 less than the Sheraton, I'd take the Casino. I'm sure that others will come along and give their opinion. Stay tuned. And, here's your forum-warming present. 1+

My favorite guitar in the herd is a Rickenbacker 360-12. If I could only have 1 guitar......... and, 24 3/4" on both.
