  1. I’m a big supporter of G7 capos. My favorite is the Performance 2 for electric and acoustic 6 string guitar, but I found some of my vintage 7.25” radius electric guitars just got a bit sharp sometimes. I picked up two of their Performance 2 7.25” version. I must have 8 Performance 2 capos now, plus 2 different 12 string ones. (I run a small studio and it’s handy to have them in a few area, plus I play out as well.) These are not inexpensive but certainly work better and look better than a Kyser. I even prefer my G7 to my Shubbs. Now here comes the Performance 3. Another $60? I don’t know. I tried one at the local store on several guitars with different radii. The first thing I noticed is the extra weight. It’s clearly heavier and slightly larger. And to be honest, it only slightly outperformed my different sized Performance 2s, if at all. The engineering behind the adaptive radius mechanism is truly cool, as is the clutch mechanism that’s been around for a few years, but I think I’ll pass. The adaptive radius seems a tad complicated for a capo (though they are warranted) and I’ve spent enough on Performance 2 capos., which are lighter and work great.
