  1. I'm new to the AJ party, having just scored a used 1997 model last week. Mine has rosewood back and sides and a spruce top. I love how loud it is, whether I'm flatpicking, hybrid picking, or strumming. It's WAY louder than my 1994 J-100 Xtra. I haven't had a chance to play with my musical partner yet (he's the lead vocalist) so we'll see how it goes with vocals the next time we get together.
  2. Greetings from Colorado! I am new to the forum, but am a long time Gibson acoustic fan. I have a 1994 J-100 Xtra, and a 1997 Advanced Jumbo. Oh, and I'm a lefty. I have also owned a Dove (sure wish I hadn't sold that one) an L-00, and a J-45. The L-00 and J-45 were great guitars, but I prefer longer scale acoustics. I've owned a few Gibson electrics over the years, but I am a Fender guy at heart (I know, boo, hiss!) My most beloved Gibson electric was a 1984 SG Standard that I bought in 1986 when I was 14. That's one I wish I still had, for sure, Fender fan or not.
