This place is starting to read like the foxnews reader comment thread. Only difference is, I don’t recall seeing mention of Gibson guitars over in the foxnews comment threads. Maybe less hyperventilation about viewpoints that don’t match our own and more hyperventilation about Gibson guitars would make the “Gibson Brands Forum” more fun. Just a thought…
Evoking Fox News . . . Congrats! Now let’s do the orange man thing. I’ve got my bingo card ready.

Be curious to see that review ... where was it ? Trying to envision a plastic drywall screw holding an end pin in place...
I realize you weren’t addressing me, but here you go.

Nope, they are to busy counting the cash from the Noel 355 and the Cat Stevens guitars. You think Gibson has a soul or cares about you? They care about Slash, cause Slash makes them money. Their a business. They make stuff people like, but at the end of the day it’s still about selling what they make, even if it is a guitar with a drywall screw in it.
What? Gibson doesn’t care about me? But . . . But . . . I thought we had something? Thought we were different, me and them. Thought that after so long I had finally found the one. Turns out I was kicked to the curb for nothing more than a nickel dry wall fastener. Oh, the agony . . .

A bit of glue squeeze out is a time-honored tradition at Gibson. But while Kalamazoo never feathered the top or back braces so they tucked under the lining like Martin did, if I recall the top braces in the guitar reviewed fell short of even reaching the lining.
Hmm, I don’t remember that part. I do recall being surprised the headstock didn’t snap off when they dropped it on the floor.

I still cannot get past that review of I think it was the G45. While I normally do not put much stock in the opinions of others this was the review where they sliced the guitar in half revealing some of the shoddiest workmanship imaginable right down to the plastic sheet rock screw holding the end pin in place. The review gave taking shortcuts to keep price tags down a whole new meaning,
Yeah, I saw that review. I can deal with a sloppy glue up on the inside of a guitar, but that drywall anchor was too much for me. I couldn’t believe that was in there. If Gibson has any self-awareness, they should be hanging their heads in shame.

I guess You must want to spend 26 minutes on a guitar you don't want, because You spent and hour badmouthing it. I'll bet Your mother beat you a lot when You were a child.
Your mother has been beating me a lot recently. The woman is all technique.

Sadly, Dr. Seuss died before he could redeem himself. Disney had Snow WHITE and Seven WHITE Dwarfs. Never any pushback, but they knew they needed to start cranking out more Diverse Stuff quickly a few years ago to stay ahead of what was looming on the horizon. On second thought, maybe Dr. Seuss was the lucky one - passing on to his just reward before all this Wokeness was visited upon us by morally and intellectually superior beings.
I’m sure Seuss would be happy he missed all this faux outrage, anger addict culture. And Disney: diversity for nothing more than sake of diversity is pandering. These companies acting woke just want those dollars in our pockets. Not a one of them cares about us beyond that.

Hmm, maybe. Although, I seem to recall some goofy lefty telling me Dr. Seuss was racist or some nonsense. What the heck, let’s do it. We’ll eat a thick steak and talk about Jesus, too and really spit in their Cheerios.

When Martin replicated her O-45 for a ‘97 edition, they printed the slogan backwards (so it could be read with an inspection mirror) and stuck them to the inside the guitar. So Baez and Martin made money off the earlier repairman’s meaningless stunt. Sounds like a pretty capitalist move to me.
That sounds about right. Commies are only communist when to comes to other people’s money.

What?!? That can’t be. Why, people on this very forum said the guitar was ugly AND overpriced. And they declared that Gibson didn’t know what it was doing. So obviously, the guitar could not have sold out. Something is awry.
Unless…. I’m beginning to suspect there is an entire world of Gibson customers/players/collectors out there who (for reasons we can’t fathom) are not part of this forum. Sometimes, I’m tempted to join them. But they must be out there, and it appears they are spending their money on guitars.
Go figure.
Man, if I had a dolla for every time dhanner was right . . . I could afford one of them Yusuf geetarz.

Ahh, I looked it up. I am well aware who Cat Stevens is, but somehow missed the whole converting/changing his name thing.

Not sure why folks complain. If you don’t like the looks, don’t buy it. If you feel the price is too steep, don’t buy it. If you don’t like Gibsons, go somewhere else. If you think you know better than Gibson, buy the company or start your own guitar company. Or drop them an email telling them what they’re doing wrong. I’m sure they’d love to hear from you. I’m also sure your email will make James Curleigh put down his spreadsheets, market research reports, etc., and say, “By gum, the email IS RIGHT! We’re doing it all wrong.”
Folks are making life harder than it already is.
It really drives you nuts that you can’t control what other people say, doesn’t it?

What is the Yusuf/Cat Stevens business? Does he have two stage names?
