  1. I feel very fortunate to own one of these Crimson series L-5s. It feels, plays and sounds great. It's everything I expected it to be and more, acoustically and plugged in. It was VERY hard to find one, specially in immaculate condition. It took months, but eventually I lucked out and came across the ad online before someone had already snagged it. The price was below retail too, which I understand is not always the case. Came with OHSC and Crimson Gibson certificate, I've been playing it non-stop since it came in. I have been almost exclusively playing '51 Emperors for decades, this is a whole new world for me. (Interesting fact that made me hesitate a second, before I called Gibson in Nashville and was reassured by them: these are NOT always stamped with the serial # on the back of the headstock. Solely on the label inside)
  2. Thank you for your response! A luthier friend of mine confirmed yesterday that it's all good and that I should just leave it alone. Aside from that, now I'm starting to feel that I just thoughtlessly highjacked this Wes Montgomery L-5 discussion with my own unrelated concern. Maybe I should move this to a new discussion or at least a better suited one. My apologies, I'm new to this blog thing! Peace.
  3. Thank you for your input, very valuable.
  4. I feel very privileged to own one of these Crimson series L-5s. It feels, plays and sounds great. I am wondering about the height of the bridge though, mine seems pretty high up from the wooden saddle. Does neck adjustment affect that at all? I am thinking I should take it in for a truss rod adjustment, not sure... Like I said, it plays great and the action is fairly low. Thanks for your input!
