  1. So….I tried putting Kluson Revolution locking tuners on my 2019 ‘57 VOS reissue Les Paul Custom. Lo and behold, they don’t fit. They were installed on my 2020 Les Paul Standard 50’s and fit perfectly. I ASSumed they would also fit the ‘57 reissue. Big nope. What is also strange (to me) is the tuners on the ‘57 don’t say anything. They’re blank. No “Gibson Deluxe” or “Kluson.” Nothing. They look like generic waffle backs. The screw holes don’t line up and the holes are too small. Is this done on purpose or is this a mistake?
  2. Let me give you an example so that you’re knowledgeable next time. You can tell how many pieces a late 60’s Les Paul Custom is made of, body and neck, by knowing if the serial number starts with a 5 or a 8. The 5whatever has a one piece body and neck.. The 8whatever has a 3 piece neck. I believe the body is as well. See? That’s the kind of knowledge I’m looking for. Next time, feel free to read and keep scrolling if you have zero to add.
  3. Well, seeing as how I’ve posted on here before straight from the pics on my phone, I wouldn’t think I’d have to use something else. I would also expect some techs, some ex-employees, or someone more knowledgeable about such serial numbers to provide a response. YOU are obviously useless to me. Why you bothered to insert your obviously useless opinion is beyond me. But thanks for being a ****** anyway.
  4. I have a 2019 60th Anniversary aged ‘59. I know Tom Murphy aged some of these 60th Anniversary ‘59’s. I believe his photo was included on the ones he did (I think). Just checking to see if it is possible that he did mine, serial number 992849. Should I just call Gibson directly? Any info helps. Thanks in advance. I can’t upload ANY pics. Even one is exceeding the limit.
  5. Hey, help me get some info on this Les Paul! I found a 2005 Gibson Les Paul in satin finish, serial number 00215555. That’s it. That’s all the info the shop has on it. Here’s what I can attest to. It looks like Slash’s Appetite burst Les Paul but before it was actually a production model. (I don’t think the Slash Appetite burst was a thing in 2005, but I may be wrong.). It has vintage pearloid tuners, zebra pickups, the neck is kinda hefty but not as much as a ‘59 R9 that was sitting next to it. It’s also roughly about as heavy as the ‘59. It appears somewhat reliced on the back and neck. Has a satin finish and has a fantastic flame top, a la the aforementioned Appetite burst. Same color as well. Kind of a honeyburst. Does anyone know exactly what this is? Just a regular old Standard? A 50’s model? A mutt? Are the pickups standard or after market? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
  6. Verified; Not a counterfeit. Well….that’s good. LOL
  7. Well, apparently Guitar Center thinks it’s a fake. They’re sending off pics to somewhere to try to verify it. I guess the COA can be counterfeit as well.
  8. Thank you, GuitarsAnn. That’s more info than I previously had. I was fairly certain it was around a 2010 model, so 2011 Isn’t far off. I didn’t think it was any earlier than that but I wasn’t sure how far back the Axcess Custom models went. Thanks for clearing up a hazy situation for me!
  9. Ok. How about this; does anyone have any information on these Axcess guitars? What year they started making them? Any changes (the volute on mine is different than the way it’s being done now). The color schemes for certain years? I’ve looked and there isn’t much info on these anywhere. Thanks.
  10. Hey all, I just recently bought a used Gibson Les Paul Axcess Custom in metallic orange. It has the axcess cutaways but no volute (at least not the way the volute is currently done on Axcess guitars). Floyd Rose equipped. It also has the COA and Custom shop case. The COA does not give the date, just SN which is CS 104874. Any help in dating this guitar would be appreciated. I’ve tried all the SN finders online that I know of. Thanks! I’m no stranger to the controlled chaos that is the Gibson serial number world. Such a pain! ps. I added the pickguard myself. Not sure I like it.
