  1. I’m having exactly the same issue, with the other 60th Anniversary model (the cherry 1961 Standard) the vibrato sticks, requires a fair amount of force to operate, and there’s no neutral position for it to return to. @IOMMIdid you ever find a solution for this? I’m considering trying some oil but I’m not sure which moving part needs the attention
  2. Immediate setup from a pro was definitely the plan, but as you say, these all seem fundamental rather than solvable issues. Would definitely have expected more from the custom shop.
  3. Brand new Gibson Custom SG Les Paul Standard, 60th anniversary reissue... Straight out of the box, I'm presented with the following: - Scuff and wear marks on the top (bass) horn - Loose screw rattling around inside the vibrola unit - Rust spots inside the vibrola unit - small but significant dents in many of the upper frets - warped vibrola cover that won't sit flush - slight crack in one of the tuning peg heads - the sideways vibrola is famously awful, but this unit is unusable. It stays in whatever position you move it to, and will not return to it's neutral/in-tune position after use. Please enjoy these pictures and videos... I certainly didn't enjoy making them. Let me know if I'm being picky/unreasonable here... I just expected a lot more from such an expensive Custom shop instrument. 5. Forgive what might be a silly question, but other than the sideways vibrola on the Anniversary model, vs the stoptail on the current custom shop 61 reissue, are these essentially the same instrument? I’d prefer the stoptail, to the vibrola, but the 60th Anniversary seems to be available for 20-30% cheaper new… so kinda compelling… Any thoughts on either would be appreciated… or anyone with hands on experience of either… Edit: Ive also read reports of the Stopbar version having a 59 neck rather than the slim taper… I’m really keen on as slim a neck as possible.
