  1. Hey forum, I am looking at this beautiful Les Paul classic with a super early serial number. It is a gem of 1989, the 9 , the really first year of the Classic. But I have some questions. I asked for additional pictures to double-check the details, finding some odd information. First, in the potentiometer cavity, we can read 3 serial numbers: 1378946, 1378948, and 137900x (the last digit is hidden). I then read the 46th week of 1989, the 48th week of 1989, and one of the first weeks of 1990. Is it possible? Also, the cavities of the pickups are not dated, and they have some written marks done by a pen. Are these details concerning, or am I just too cold feet here? Thank you
  2. That's a beauty. You mention it is your go-to guitar. Is anything special more than the weight? My 2007 GOTW #14 is also a lightweight. I wonder what is the magic. My Classic 2021 seems like a tank compared to it. The 2021 has the 9-hole weight relief. Does anyone know the magic that was cast on the Antiques?
  3. Hey everyone, In '96, my first electric guitar was an Epiphone Les Paul Classic. In 2021, I bought a Classic again, but it was a Gibson this time. I've always loved Les Paul Classics for their mix of modernity and tradition. I've started collecting them now to own one of each Les Paul Classic model. It's going to be a long journey, but I'm excited. The new addition is a fantastic Guitar of the week #14, the Classic Antique with H-90. What a beast! A few months ago, I started compiling a list of all the Les Paul Classic models produced over the years. So far, I've listed 37 models, including the Classic 1960, Guitars of the Week, and the more recent 2018 models with P90 or the HP. I thought it might be helpful to share the list. You can find it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ukvQkv98_Ch0cBPkOdpLOL_H3MSvgk9Psdpj381DL7A/edit?usp=sharing The list includes web pages and reverb listings from each year of production. I've been searching for all the models over the years, but I'd like to know if any are missing from the list. Feel free to do so if you have any input or would like to contribute to the list. Also, let me know if any additional details would be valuable.
  4. I have also the same willing. My heart goes more to the special. I did some researches and all goes to either the epiphone Les Paul special or the Gibson les Paul junior. Here a test from Andertons that you might find interesting on the subject: The Gibson les Paul special has something more than the epiphone. But for the price of the Gibson you might find the combo Gibson junior + epiphone special 🙂 hope it helps
  5. Yeah. My back complains too. What strap do you use?
  6. Hey everyone, I just joined the forum. I am a Les Paul aficionado. I have loved them since I bought my first electric guitar, an Epiphone Les Paul Classic Birdeyes, in 1996. I, after years of buying Epiphone, stepped up and started a collection of Gibson Les Paul, focusing on Classic models, my first love. I recently have been the lucky new owner of a Classic Antique Guitar of the Week #14. The 2nd of the collection. The collection starts well 🙂 Merry Christmas everyone and take care, ftc
  7. I am lucky Santa brought me a splendid 2007 Les Paul classic Guitar of the week #14.
