No, hes asking how we know that EE corresponds to Qingdao. Anyway, the guitar you bought should have a sticker that says either "Crafted in China" or "Made in Korea".
-
Just FYI guys, the serial number on a white sticker with a black border means you're looking at a Samick Korea-built guitar from the mid '80s-1989.
-
I didn't say to put in a stop tailpiece, READ WHAT I SAID!
-
What exactly does the production # stand for ? Is it the amount of units produced that month' date=' or the order in which your guitar came off the line ?
F01100017 - Korea / Fine Plant / Oct / 01 - the number 0017 baffles me tho.
Thanks ![/quote']
The production number is what number guitar yours was of all the guitars produced that month.

Riddle me this batman:
Where the hell was my new 59 LP reissue made? It has a stamped serial number that starts F300...
Qingdao China. All the '59 RIs have serials that start with F for some reason.
-
I might be missing something but why can't you just put the strings through stop-tailpiece-style?
To show what I mean, look at these pics...
Stop Tailpiece wrapped around backwards:
Stop tailpiece normal:
Can't you just do the opposite?

Joe, sorry if this has already been said as I haven't read the whole topic but the serial number you posted indicates a 1987 Samick Korea build.

Actually those are probably both Cherry Sunburst now that I think of it.
-
They only used that headstock from 1986-1989 and the Les Paul Standard was introduced in 1989 so you do the math.
Here's a picture from the 1989 Epiphone Catalog:
It came in Cherry Sunburst:
... and Honeyburst:
The serial number was on a sticker on the back of the headstock but it was commonly ripped off:

You must be mistaking the B for a 3. I can't see in your picture. It looks very legit, and I would put it in the '90s probably Korean made. The serial makes no sense though. You should try to get a better pic or figure it out for yourself.

What´s up you guys?!
My name is Mateus' date=' from Brasil...
I´d like to get information about my guitar... All I know is that it was built in '86, at a korean factory...
Could someone tell me how good/bad could it be? I mean, about the wood used to built it, and the pickups and stuff... Is it better if we compare to the 2008 chinese ones, for example?
All i heard was the late 80's were good, better than the ones made after '01...
Thanks for the responses and sorry for my broken english...[/quote']
Going by your avatar picture, it's not an '80's model. They had Gibson style headstocks until the '90's.

God, look at this abomination:
