How does a kid start playing with B.B. King when he’s 11 years old? How does he get Frank Sinatra’s Mgr? I don’t know about his back story but very well could be he was born into it.. Coming from a family of Wealth & Influence doesn’t hurt… I don’t know that he did but, either that or his Stars aligned…

He wasn't born into it. Comes from a middle class upbringing. His dad owned a neighborhood music store.

The guy busted his *** for years to be as successful as he is. He learned the music business and markets his music, concerts and swag himself.

He also supports other artist with his Keeping The Blues Alive foundation.

He's a guitar/amp geek like most of us, just on a larger scale.

Seen Hired Gun. It’s good. Billy Joel is a grade A super A-hole. I saw the trailer for Fanny. I will watch it one day.

Well Guns is a bit one sided in its presentation.  That grade A super A-hole paid his entire band throughout the entire Covid no concerts allowed shut down.

I was 16 in 1976. The tv movie "Helter Skelter" brought the The Beatles to the fore, as did the release of their double album "Rock n Roll Music" and the release of "Got To Get You Into My Life" as a single 10 years after it had been recorded. We didn't have the internet to spread false rumors but I was convinced they would get back together. Not sure where I heard it, or if I invented it in my own mind. It was short lived.

I distinctly remember People Magazine with them on  the cover with the question….

Will they reunite for 50 million9CD7BF17-98CC-471D-A5CC-C02E848CE89B.jpeg.37d47da11ea40da2b2a24d097331e156.jpeg

  4. When I was a teenager in the 70s I would have given anything for a Beatles reunion. Now in my 60s I cherish the music they made in that short 7 year span and really glad they didn’t continue.

It was basically 2 years from She Loves You to Tomorrow Never Knows. Simply amazing.

All I was saying is I don't know of any other band that sat around "jamming" and goofing off in a high dollar studio as much as the Beatles, leaving us with hours and hours and hours and hours of different takes, un-tuned guitars and drivel.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Aside from the Get Back Sessions, which took place in Twickenham film studio and in the Apple records basement (so no EMI studio time was wasted). The Beatles were surprisingly efficient in studio through Pepper.  Of course they had to be with the touring and movie schedules. If i remember correctly they had a month to write and record all the tunes for Rubber Soul plus a new single for the Christmas sales season.

You can't tell me he doesn't know they are doing or getting a cut from it.

If tix are $4000 in one section and that section has just 200 seats in it, do the math.  Ok I'll do it for you that is $800,000.  That is just for 200 seats, in a 20,0000 seat arena. Of course not all seats are 4k. Don't we all love Capitalism.

Sure enough! The concert business will live and die on the interest of long time fans and their disposable income. I've seen just about everyone on my bucket list. Many like Macca, Beach Boys, Joel, Clapton, Elton, Chicago, multiple times. At 62 years I've no interest in spending my entertainment dollars to see them live again.

That being said i don't have any issues with a legendary performer's ticket prices or the people that are eager to pay it.

Thankful that Bruuuuuuuuce's great great great great great grandkids will never have to worry about holes in the Jordans.

    Yep,

The Beatles rented the studio by the month!

Not for the Get Back Let It Be sessions.

The first half at Twickenham Studios was already rented for a Ringo /Peter Sellers movie. The Beatles were given free use until production commenced.

The second half was in the basement of there Apple office.

However they did rent some equipment from EMI as well as borrowing some of Harrison's home studio equipment.

  8. Beautiful AXE!

I've owned a couple SGs including one just like yours (because of the GH connection) but just never fell in love with it.  Unfortunately sold them when something else caught my eye.

Congratulations man, now go rock some Hey Bulldog!

  9. Information in the age of misinformation can be like hacking your way out of the Amazon . Exhausting at times for sure, but censorship of any kind be it a weed eating pop singer or a stoned podcast host or an ex President the other political party wants stoned is a slippery slope. So there are people in the world that have different experiences and opinions. Sorry Graham that's not the way it works.

  10. T-Brother, I know it's a trying time for you and your lovely wife but quite possibly the Lord put them there for this very reason. I pray that his hand is upon them and will guide and protect them as they help the people of Ukraine.      Cookie

Like I said, I've never seen McCartney(or the Beatles for that matter) but caught Ringo's "all stars" on one of their tours in the '70's.  So long ago I can't recall who all was with him.

The first All Star Band toured in 1989 so maybe it wasn't quite that long ago.

Not even Frank Zappa, Annette Funicello, and Jack Nicholson could save the Monkees from the movie Head.

    A nice period piece though.
(If you were mega-stoned during that period, that is.)

    😑

Great soundtrack though and after watching  it again  a couple years ago, clearly it was meant to destroy the teenybopper image while commenting on all that's artificial about Hollywood.
