  1. Played mostly strats or super strats most of my life and didn't buy my first Les Paul until my mid forties.

The 60s neck on my studio deluxe feels perfect to me.

It's great to have choices isn't it.

  2. ShredAstaire' date=' I'll admit that I was a little naive in thinking this thread wouldn't turn into just a string of fat jokes. I just heard this story on my way into work yesterday, and was bored at work (its been pretty dead lately) so wanted to see what other's opinions were on this.

I listen to Howard Stern a lot and find it funny how many people in mainstream media share the same opinion as him until he expresses it on the air, than everyone changes their story.

Let's face it, this girl is obese, and if the people around her aren't pushing her to do something about it, then they aren't doing her any favors. And if they are, this "nomination" or whatever you call it, isn't helping their cause at all.[/quote']

Just wondering and I'm not trying to be a smart a** but how do you know what the mainstream media opinion is?

  3. I think people forget that he is a human being too' date=' you may not like him because of how he acts or what he thinks, but he still is a human being and should be treated right and not like a dog.

C'mon Bass nobody treated homz like a dog. His post were getting less and less conducive to anything positive. He was the school kid that loved to start trouble then step aside to watch the chaos. His inability to be respectful to and follow the directions set forth by those in charge of this forum were his ticket out.

I've had a talkin to from Jocko one time about something I wrote that went too far. I apoligized and from then on I try to participate in the good things this forum has to offer. cookie

    .

That would depend on what he posted and how he reacted.

If he was cool and joined in the general melee of discussion of things musical - no problemo.

If he persisted in being a disruptive' date=' confrontational, argumentative, crap stirring ********.....

.....well thanks but [u']no[/u] thanks. I get that from drunks in pubs and dorks in music shops.

    so true.

  5. Yeah color wise I didn't really have a fav but price wise I couldn't say no. The GC near me had 6 ( 3 in each color). I played all of them searching for the best overall sound and feel. I almost bought a brown one but it had a long scratch below the tone knobs. The sales kid said they could take off 20 bucks. Ha Ha Ha! As it was the last one I played was perfect! No sweat stained pickups, no 15 yr old DNA mucking up the fretboard, no nicks, no scratches, no divots. That last one was cherry. My wifey likes the red one best. She's happy and I got a great Les Paul. Yeah Baby!!

  6. I called Gibson to see what was best to use on the VM and they said that Gibson spray polish was fine. I just wipe it on and buff it off with a soft micro fiber cloth. The neck is so smooth with that light finish and its so easy now to move up and down the neck. Some other Les Paul finishes almost make it feel sticky.
