$3199. Not bad but of course it’s a no for me. What will Slash’s next sig LP be?

It says the original it was a factory second sent to Slash, how come Gibson doesn’t send you any guitars Pinch?

Wouldn’t be surprised if Gibson reproduced one of Slash’s Kris Derrig ‘59 LP copies.

Except for the tailpiece and the add-on pickguard with the pickup as mentioned by Sarge, it looks like a Super 300

Another more likely guitar is an L4. Here's one shown on eBay.

Thanks Dave. I initially searched for an L5 but it didn’t look like it at all. Was thinking maybe 350.

Actually don’t think it’s an L4, cos I saw another picture and there are 2 pickups. Perhaps maybe an L4 with double pickups?

Dont know about The Taylor swift, but Guitar Ctr and zZounds hit my email box today with a J180 and a couple of more added to their IBG line with cooked tops: J180 (?) , J200 and 1942 Banner J45 all with a case and LRBaggs VTC.

The J-180 in the light pink or light blue is probably what was the rumor, inspired by Taylor Swift in those colors, even the Ebony colored one. She has all 3 colors, so it’s not really a signature but close to what her Gibson J-180s look like.

I’m a 61 year old  male and I love how MANY of my fellow “old timers” on here feel the need to add the disclaimer “She’s not my kind of music BUT………” before giving her the rightful accolades she deserves.  I’d like to ask them all “Well, what kind of music IS your kind of music” and see the small box or window of music it is that they listen to. Can’t good music” just be “good music”?

That’s kind of like your kid walking into a room and saying The Eagles/JacksonBrown/CSNY/JamesTaylor really isn’t my kind of music but I respect them and I guess that they’re OK for being old guys.

You get a mention at the the 2:44 mark…

I bought one of these in 2010, and recently I've noticed that that surface of the body is a little rough, almost gritty, in places (namely near the upper horn, and between the bridge and the knobs/switch). The area where pick wear would be expected is still smooth and unblemished.

I was wondering what the best way to be looking after the finish is. As I understand it (but I may be wrong), it has a single thin coat of nitrocellulose lacquer with a dull finish, so some have recommended to me that a standard guitar polish would work. However, I'm wary of doing anything that might damage the finish given how incredible and beautiful the guitar is. Until now, I've only wiped the body down with a soft, dry microfiber cloth after playing it to remove any sweat or dust.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

Inspired By came with a nitro finish? Those were reserved only for the Limited Edition 1965 John Lennon Casinos I believe.

Not quite dope enough.  Sequencing is a way different work flow than I am used to, I don't want to play a computer.  Santa will take this back and I'll muddle on with my 20 year old drum machine until it dies and then I'll figure out something.  It was two good tries though.  Still, no Gibsons for me.

A few years ago I got a Roland TR-09 and BOSS DR-880. I still have to get a Roland 808 then think I’m done with drum machines. Last year I got a Beat Buddy Pedal and foot switch it’s still sitting in the bloody box, haven’t even played it yet….Sometimes you just buy a lot of stuffs and it just collects dust. Oh well.

Or perhaps a functioning QC Department?

That would be nice as well..Perhaps shipping Gibsons in climate controlled bags like Martin does would be nice..

I can tell that I really LOVE this model! One of my favorite! 22 frets and a slim-taper neck profile make it easy to perform a wide range of musical genres, including jazz, rock, and blues. As with any antique guitar, it's essential to evaluate the guitar's individual state, taking into account factors like playability, uniqueness, and general upkeep. For players and collectors alike, the 1994 Epiphone Casino from the Peerless manufacture is highly regarded for striking a balance between quality and price.

I bought his guitar brand new back in ‘97 for $810 CAD. It’s a great guitar.

One nice thing about being in the position I'm in is that I learn what the various Gibson Brands are bringing out, even before a lot of other people who work here do.

No, I can't share. Sorry. But there are some things coming out in 2024 that I probably will not be able to resist. [drool]

It's getting to the point where I am going to need to add another room to my house due to all the gear I have - and I already have three rooms full of stuff. 😄

Whatever you guys have planned in 2024 will most likely be rehashing of models you haven’t made in a while, or new Artist Signatures. Definitely an Epiphone DG-335 & perhaps the Gibson version. You guys may start building the ES-175 or perhaps ES-330 again. More Epiphone USA Made Series. Perhaps building a Chet Atkins Gibson Country Gentleman? We know in September you’ll do another Joe Bonamassa Epiphone Signature or perhaps Gibson Signature of one of his guitars….Maybe the $50K mystery guitar that was supposed to be released in 2023 is pushed to 2024..

    1) No CS logo on the headstock

    2) The picture you're looking at is a Gisbson es 330, not a Casino! (my post was maybe confusing)

I thought it could be a 59 or 61 reissue, but they both featured black p90s.... That one has nickel covers, a "vibramate" bigsby... Maybe all this isn't stock. That guitar is a mystery, I can't find another one like this one on the web, from 2017 or so...

I never said it was a Casino. It’s definitely a 330. I think the Bigsby B7 was added on and it didn’t ship from the factory like that.
