I'm guessing you aren' t Hispanic :) me neither by the way, but my guy is :) Shonita is what he calls me when I sing Besame Mucho :) Apparently I have a charming English accent when I sing in Spanish :)
nice!
and yes, not hispanic

my apologies for referring to you as amigo. i should have paid closer attention!

:) I asked customer service, and they said that the Sorrentos should have both, but some got out without the serial number by mistake. They also said that they couldn't disclose the factories anymore because of pirating. If it says on the headstock "made in...." that's ok, if not... I take that to mean mine was made in China :). Unfortunately, I also seem to have a problem with the COA, which is both empty and the wrong one (CS provided some pics :))
So mine might be a fake :P I've asked if they think it's possible, although I bought it from THE Gibson Fender dealer in Paris (I've no idea what it's real name is, everyone just calls it the Fender shop)
Do you recall if the SN was on the COA?
keep us updated, i'd wager your's is good and authentic, looking at a lot of pics and even the ones that do have serial #s have them in different places and applied differently, several look to be stickers even. I would think if counterfeiters globbed on to this guitar and started cranking out fakes, it would become apparent quickly.
have luck amigo!

Will you please PM me with Dylan's contact info? I've been dealing with Sweetwater for years and am always getting bounced between reps. When I ask for a discount, most of the time I'm told they don't do discounts at Sweetwater. I'd really like to deal with one rep that offers me the same discounts as others get.
here ya go, watch out though, he's chatty!
Take care,

you're welcome, this thread kicks asses, would have hated not being a part of it since i actually had a non-serial # sorrento in my possession for several weeks, bought from sweetwater, my guy there, dylan, hooks me up with 12% off everything when i call him too!

here's another, non 2nd without serial #

Your right it doesn't have a S/N on that but it also says it's a 2nd I believe. Don't they remove the S/N from factory 2nds with the repairs? At least that's what I thought. Use to stamp a "2nd" or something like that into the wood on the back side of the headstock too.
Aster
mine was not a 2nd.

i had one, it didn't have a serial # on the headstock
