  1. If it was in some of the storage units I see around here where there outside....I'll bet it can get to over 150 degrees Fahrenheit at this time of year...no problem....like a car sitting in the sun on a 95 degree day with the windows closed...

yeah. I can only imagine they had to be stored in bad conditions. looks like they may have been stored in a unit close to the ocean!

  2. Just trying to confirm my research.

I believe what I have is a 2009-10 Epiphone Les Paul 1960 Tribute made in China (although the Guitar Dater Project lists it as Fuji-gen Japan).

    Serial F303735.

Hopefully someone here can help confirm/deny my findings.

correct. it's made in China. the serial number is meant to replicate the 60's sn (as a Tribute)

  3. For $400.00 for a Epiphone black Standard, I got a bill of sale! msp_scared.gif Nothing else and I asked!msp_cursing.gif My Gibson Standard Gold Top came with a beautiful case, Manuel, truss rod, warranty, instructions, and a free set of Earnie Ball strings, plus the bill of sale! Lol. msp_thumbup.gifOh, I did get a sticker on the pick guard of the Epiphone that said Lifetime warranty.msp_crying.gif I'll have to keep the sticker on it, it's the only proof I have that says it. Nothing to send in.msp_confused.gif

you register the warranty on line.

  4. Hi,

I'm looking to buy a used Epiphone from a cash converter type store.

The seller and pictures say its an Epiphone SG G400 Pro CH. The seller says its serial number is 11101511144 which would make made in October 2011 but the Unofficial Wikipedia page provides "2012 to 2014", is that years of sale/availability/manufacturing?. Could they have built them in the year before they went on sale? What chance that it is a fake? I cannot find any information as to when they started to make them.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Daniel

the serial number looks ok. I wouldn't hold too much stock on the "2012-2014"...they still make this model in 2015. probably not a fake.

  5. Thanks.

I also contacted Stewmac. They said they didn't know because they have nothing to cross reference to. I did just hear back from Sweetwater, and they have a set of Grovers, and not sure they will fit.

    Guitar just too new?

I think they are the same tuners as the standard full size Casino. I recommend buying a cheap set of digital calipers and measuring the tuners you have and see if the measurements match the specs on Stew Macs site.

  6. Yeah that's kind of the problem. On the inside it says "EJ200CE", despite the fact that its serial nr tells me that it's guitar from 2014, so it should be a solid one (I was told).

So I was hoping there would be anyone else with a solid top but ej-200ce written on the inside.

    should be solid...

current specs: "The EJ-200CE’s classic shape is made with a Solid Spruce top with select maple, back and sides"

  7. It's almost impossible to see for me, since there's quite a thick layer of varnish on the edge of the sound hole. I checked the SN and it's from june 2014. I guess/hope that it's a solid top then.

As long as there's no one else with "EJ-200SCE" written on the inside I'll give it the benefit of the doubt!

the S generally refers to solid top. as far as the S for sunburst; it's usually coded VS for vintage sunburst.
