paganskins
I've recently bought a newish used J200 studio (2011 I think) and I'm suffering from squeaky finish, the leather strap moving on the butt of the guitar or my arm on the top or top edge of the guitar can cause it. Is this typical on newish gibsons or have the shop polished it with something? Most importantly any suggestions on how to cure the problem? dchristo
use some virtuoso polish on you guitar and that should solve the problem
Jerry K
One possibility is the seller used Gibson pump polish on it recently. That can make it squeaky for a short time. It wears off. Try gently wiping the guitar down with a slightly damp micro-fiber cotton cloth.
paganskins
Thanks both, I'll try the microfibre cloth first then if unsuccessful the virtuoso
jannusguy2
A well placed squeak can actually enhance a tune.
