soundjunkie
Man the '57 humbuckers in my 135 are my favorite pickups of all time. I'm running my 135 through a cheap AC15CC1 with greenback speaker and the tone just sends chills up my spine. You here so much talk on forums about pickup swaps on guitars and it's always puzzled me. If you didn't like the tone, why buy the guitar? I've only been blessed with two Gibson's in my life but both had the most amazing pickups. Sorry, just had to gush. I love my 135! She can be pretty and sweet and articulate one minute and turn into a raging beast the next. I'm readty to sell the rest of my guitars.
jrplefty
'57 PUPS and the Vox El-84 grind is a wonderful combination. I may have to go plug in and play before I leave for work. To answer, why buy it if you don't like the tone? I personally don't plug an electric in when I'm trying before buying. If I like the way it resonates acoustically and feels in my hands, I know I can make it sound the way I want plugged in. Keep on rockin' in the free world! \:D/
