Harrison
Hi guys, I was looking for a teaching / travel/ camping guitar and recently bought this guitar in the UK, its a Flambeau LFW 1 made in japan in 1983 ..... going for so cheap .......And i mean really cheap, i had to buy it.. I didn't know anything about the brand but it turns out they were designed by Lowden and made in japan by the Yari makers, what struck me the most was when I compared it to my Mccartney elitist Texan, I was surprised by how similar they were in design, size, shape of heel, scale etc.... The flambeau is a more brighter sounding but its really loud, rings out for ages the neck is flatter and wider, the top is really high quality. it must have been converted to lefty when it was brand new as there is no marking on the other side of the soundhole. Whoever did the bridge filling and re cutting is a genius because you really have to look to see it, and you can't feel it at all. Here it is alongside the Texan. I'd really appreciate any info, comments.
