gotomsdos
A guitar seller speaks of its playwear as followed: "There is typical playwear, with a higher concentration around the first position, that is consistent with a guitar this age. " Does "the first position" mean playing (touching) position ?
JimR56
I'm a self-taught jazz player, and I use the whole neck (rarely if ever used the "easy strum" type of chords), but I think the guy is referring to the general area of the first fret (or first few frets), where many basic chords are fingered. I think. :)
L5Larry
Does "the first position" mean playing (touching) position ? First position is what is known as "Cowboy Chords". That means "open" chords on the first three fret positions.
