booismycat
I was recently searching guitar sites and noticed that the Gibson ES-137 was listed as "No Longer Available". Does anyone have any information regarding this? True/Not True? I have a Gibson ES-137 Custom Blues Burst in "Like New" condition that I have to sell and was wondering about the resale value. If anyone can provide any information on this... thanks in advance!
soundjunkie
You are correct. It has been replaced with a new es-139 model. No f-holes. I had a 135 but sold it. I think with each reincarnation the guitar gets better. I believe the 139 only has a single vol and tone control.
Versatile
Personal opinion would be to retain the ES137... IMO it is so good it will be re-issued at some point... A classic meld of 'ES175' aesthetics with 'Les Paul' versatility With a whiff of ES335 thrown in for good measure... Perhaps they don't sell enough to make profits for the accountants V
