Thespacepilot
I love my 1965 Es-345 and small nut size I was wondering what the neck shapes and nut sizes were prior to 1965? I heard from 1960 to 1962 the necks were rather thin. Thanks
retrorod
Hello, "thin" is a term that needs some defintion to me and is often confusing. Is it "thin" in width OR "thin" in depth? I have personally owned a '60 Les Paul Jr. that had a standard wide neck but was thin in depth.....Not to my liking! I also had a '68 Byrdland that had a beefy depth but a narrow nut width.....Not to my liking! I also once owned a '69 J-160E that had the 'perfect' neck (to me)...in width and depth. In short, there may be 'generalities' about Gibson necks, but I think they are all over the board..... The fifties necks in general fit me the best
