ratrob Posted January 8, 2014 Share Posted January 8, 2014 Hello all, I bought a Sheraton II a couple years go and failed miserably trying to upgrade the pickups. The main problem was that the CTS pots I bought were too big to fit into the f-holes which brings me to my question. Can anyone recommend a good set of minipots to use for this mod? If so, where did you purchase them? Im hoping to find some Mini pots that wont ruin the tone. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Jayyj Posted January 8, 2014 Share Posted January 8, 2014 When I did mine I found there was an angle that the full size pot would go through the F hole, but only one and it played merry hell with the harness trying to twist the pot into the correct orientation to get through the hole. I get everything in there in the end but there's a bad joint somewhere so will be redoing them in the near future. I'm sure I've seen CTS mini pots offered in the US, but they never seem to come up in the UK. I might try redoing mine with the Japanese pots that are easier to get hold of and see whether it detrimentally affects the tone. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Bender 4 Life Posted January 8, 2014 Share Posted January 8, 2014 Rob, if you're in the US, i'd try Stewmac or Allparts (.com for both) or GuitarFetish (.com). or, if you have a "Radio Shack" nearby, way in the back in the "parts drawers" you'll likely find some pots. I could only get them in by flipping them upside down and I broke a connection doing so. I'll check out All parts as I've used them before.
