Edouard
Hey Everyone, I have a 2-month old LP Ultra III. When a cable (standard 1/4 inch mono patch) is plugged into the output jack (mono), the blue LED on the tuner lights up, even if the other end of the cable is not plugged into an amp. I understand from the user's manual that this is normal, but I find it kind of annoying, since I always have to unplug the cable after playing or leave the LED light on. Two nights ago, I left the cable in the jack over night and when I played last night, none of the electronics seemed to work: no LEDs worked, the Nanomag/Probucker toggle didn't work, the tuner button didn't work. I'm assuming the battery is dead and I will try replacing it tonight, but could leaving the cable plugged in for one night drain the battery that much? Is so, I would always have to make sure to unplug the cable or constantly buy new batteries. Or is my battery dead simply from normal use, i.e. 1-2 hours a day for 2 months? What kind of mileage do you guys get from your batteries. I almost never use the USB. I also had an issue a few weeks back with a nasty static noise coming through the amplifier when the Nanomag pickup was selected. Toggling to the Probuckers eliminated the static, but when toggleing back to Nanomag, the static returned. Sometimes unplugging and re-plugging in the mono patch cable will fix this, but sometimes it won't. If I wait a day or two and it usually goes away. It hasn't happened in the last few weeks, some maybe it taked care of itself. Has anyone experienced this before? Thanks in advance for any feedback! BobF_
I unplug the cable from my Ultra-339 (same electronics) every time I get done playing. I haven't noticed any fast battery drain. In fact, I think the battery in mine is still the first one I installed a year ago. FWIW, I unplug all of my guitars when they're not being played
Edouard
Thanks for the replies and, yes, I always get a smile on my face when I walk in the room and see the Les Paul with sunburst. I replaced the battery and everything is fine now. I will start unplugging everything when done playing; good habit to get into I guess. Thanks again, E. DeltaVee
Along those lines, does the battery continue to drain if you leave the jack plugged in? Does the battery continue to drain even if the jack is unplugged? I'm experiencing the static. In addition, the A/B mode lights fade out around 6 and below on the nanomag volume and only the humbuckers will play. Between 6 and 7 on the nanomag volume, the A/B mode lights fade back in and the nanomag starts working. This is also true when the mode is set to nanomag plus humbuckers. I haven't tried replacing the battery yet but I will. But if it's the battery, it went dead in a day or two, and I don't think the jack was plugged in. Then again, it was a used guitar. Any insights appreciated.
DeltaVee
No replies but looks like it was a low battery. The fuzz sound, the deadish sound, no sound below six on the nanomag pickup was all low battery. I would have just thought it would have quit altogether.
