Tell me about Firebirds plz?

Is the center body piece on recent Firebirds walnut/mahogany laminate like the neck?

 

So the body wings measure about 1.25" thick and the center block is 1.5"?

 

Judging by sight, would you say the body of a firebird has more or less area than an SG?

The neck and centre body block are the same one piece of wood thats why its called neck through construction ,its an off set body design so its slightly more area than an SG
