Joan Jett signature melody maker information

I bought a Joan Jett signature melody maker about almost 2 years ago second hand from ebay. Around that time I did some research about the guitar (more in general) but mostly just enjoyed playing it.

Recently I did some research again and on the gibson site en the guitar dater project I found that my guitar was made in 2007, but most sites say that this guitar was released by gibson in 2008. So was my JJ MM one of the first to be sold in '08 but made in '07? Or I read something about that this guitar was to be one of Gibsons Guitar of the Week editions in 2007 and something about only 400 of those being produced, could it be one of those? And since it is second hand is it legit or could it be a fake (I think it is a real one)? Also I got it in a Gibson hardcase but I don't think it is the original one, some clearity about that would be nice aswell.

 

the serial is 031370314

based on this I already know it was made on November 9th 2007 (first batch of the day).

I have anSG with a 2012 serial number and it is stamped "2013 Model". I think Gibson starts production for some models the year before and that the serial numbers actually reflect when it was made.
