The Hierophant
Hi there, fellow Gibsonites, I need a bit of input from some folks who know their Gibsons from their Chibsons. I've seen a 2008 Flying V in worn cherry advertised for a good price. I've been in contact with the seller and he's provided an serial number which fits the bill. However, he also claims that he's done no other work on the guitar other than fitting a Michael Schenker pickup on the bridge. This pictures though show chrome thumb-pieces on the tuning pegs. As far as I'm aware, on Flying Vs these pegs have usually been the same creamy plastic (or whatever) that is used on Les Paul Standards, Studios, etc. However, I could be wrong on this and, indeed, I hope so, as I'd rather like to have a nice V alongside my LP Studio. So, have you guys seen these models provided with pegs such as those pictured? Thanks for your input. :)
cjsinla
You usually see those chrome tuners on the higher priced V's. Get a good clear pic of the back of the headstock to see if there are extra screw holes. That might tell you if they were changed out.
