nippyjun
Hi. I have recently purchased a 1967 Gibson SG Standard with the original case. There case is a bit beat up and doesn't have a Gibson badge on it. In fact, I can't find any place that a badge would have been mounted. Does anyone know where the badge would be located? Maybe there never was one? If there was one, would it have been one of the brass ones with the star next to the G in Gibson? Would the badge have been inside the case? Thanks. L5Larry
1967 sounds way too late for Gibson to still have been affixing the badges to their cases. Do you have information otherwise? My '64 Firebird case did NOT have one. My '47 L-7 case DOES have one. As for "inside" the case, I have seen them on the accessory pocket lid. powerwagonjohn
My 1969 SG Std. has Gibson silkscreened on both sides of the case. It is the square case with the purple lining. The case for my 1967 SG Jr. is fiberboard with a red interior and has Gibson silkscreened on the top only. thanks John
nippyjun
Hi. Thanks for your replies. I may have incorrectly assumed that the case once had a badge.
