sunndwn
I need help determining the year of this B45. I have a 63 and 64 right now, but this one is weird. I was told it was a 62. The serial # is 51786, but is very light, and not centered. It is a little to the left, as if a nother digit should be there. It is a square shoulder, natural finish with a tailpiece. I know you are thinking not a 62 because of the natural finish, but the Rooftop singers had 2 of them in 62. The triangles are pointed, and it has a stinger on the back of the headstock. It is not inked B45-12 inside the guitar either. And the sides and back are dark mahogony, not cherry. It looks like an old one also. It is solid, in and out, but looks rough. It is a single x bracing inside also. The bridge is small rectangular, glued on. No belly. Gordon Lightfoot has an early 63 with pointed triangles also. Most later B45's had the pointed ones. Any help? Kris
ksdaddy
They didn't go to a trapeze until about 1966. Mine is a '69. Compare yours to mine: http://www.angelfire.com/me4/ksdaddy/b45.html My serial # is in the 500000 range so yours may indeed be missing a digit. I should add that the saddle is ceramic and is aftermarket. The rosewood one is in the case.
