xryan67
I picked up an Epiphone Wildkat from a collector, good price and barely used. Super clean, good sound, plays nice, but one thing that gets me is the serial number on the inside, just says "AN". That's it. Can anyone shine some light on this one? ksdaddy
Is it blonde? It could just mean "Antique Natural". Is that the only sign of a serial number? Maybe some had the serial numbers on stickers and not stamped or otherwise placed more permanently.
Yorgle
"AN" is indeed the code for Antique Natural. But there should be a string of numbers ahead of it. If not, someone obviously screwed up the sticker. Don't feel too bad, the logo on the back of my Wildkat has "Two Thousand Fifteen" spelled out in the circle part, but says "2016" in the center. I have three epiphones now, the above mentioned Wildkat, an SG and a Les Paul Classic. The SG and the Les Paul only have the numbers on the back of the headstock. The wildkat has the numbers on the headstock and the sticker inside the body.
