Plugged the the 12V adapter that came with the DF in to the RIP, The RIP got VERY hot then made a screaching noise. I freaked out, then unplugged it, then plugged it back in again and it made the noise again, then stopped and then the unit cooled down. Sooooo- I then plugged in the firewire and the computer does not recognise it. Anyone know what the hell this is about or face similer issues? MCK Posted February 27, 2009 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Sorry about your experience. Sounds like you have a faulty RIP on your hands and need to get a replacement. Suggest you call Gibson customer service and ask for an RMA for the RIP. RIP is not supposed to behave like that. If they tell you to RMA the whole guitar just refuse. Good luck.
