Hi, 1st post!

Quick intro, I'm an Spanish guitar player wannabe, in my late 40s, who finally took the time to start learning how to actually play! It's better to rock late than never!

I recently bought my first Epiphone, a very used nice 'Epiphone by Gibson' metallic-ish black S-500 (I think that's the model)

40 eur (with bag, cable, tuner, straplocks and even a Perri's Iron Maiden strap! B) )

The guitar is in quite good condition for a 1987? model (serial number is 71011665) except for 2 pickups being open due to glue fossilization... (see pics below)

And all I know about it's past is that it was used in a music studio many years ago and that 'some luthier had the pickups changed'

Here's where I need help please, the HB is clearly different (hex poles) from the one shown in all this guitar model pictures, no brand or marks shown on the back unfortunately

The single coils look huge to me! I've not found any pics of the 'Tech-II' SCs that were installed in the factory, so not really sure if the ones I have are original or not, big and heavy they are for sure.

So it'd be great if you could share your thoughts and opinions on this so I can better understand what I have.

And the pics of course:
