sharshall Posted March 3, 2009 Share Posted March 3, 2009 I have a 1984 Gibson Explorer ser.#82894641 , wine red trans finish, non pickguard mdl., very awsome unit, early Nashville I believe. Have always thought the body wood was mahogany, but there is an unfinished space in the control cavity, it's bright yellow, definately NOT mahogany. Looks more like Korina, but I've been told that's not possible. I contacted Gibson a few years ago & they didn't know. Any help here? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
