winslow
Aloha, I’m setting up a used coupe I just purchased. The bridge posts are loose in the studs so I want to lock them with some loctite until I can get a replacement. can anyone with a coupe tell me how high the posts stick out of the inserts so I can lock them in approximately until I string it up? I can fine tune the height with the wheel nuts later. greatly appreciate any help you can afford me. regards, Mark
mihcmac
Bridge post height adjustment is kind of fluid. Depending on how flat your neck is adjusted from end to end and adjust the bridge height so that your strings don't buzz. If the strings are too high at the 12th fret, look down the neck from the bridge at the shadow cast on the fingerboard by the strings is parallel or bowed. If bowed adjust the truss rod to flatten the neck a bit and adjust the bridge lower without causing the strings to buzz. Once you are satisfied with the string height, adjust the bridge saddles for intonation. Sometimes its just easier to take it to a professional and have it setup correctly the first time Edited October 17, 2021 by mihcmac
