Stu deO
How would one find out what string spacings Gibson is using on their 1936 Advanced Jumbo and 1939 J55 models. I find this influences playability a lot more than nut width. I doubt I’m likely to see any in stores and would need to order one, in which case any info would be great. zombywoof
As a rule of thumb I do not carry a caliper with me when I go look at guitars. But string spacing at the bridge is without a doubt a very elusive spec. So take this with a grain of salt but based on specs for various Bozeman-made guitars I would expect it to be around 2 6/32" to 2 7/32." That is certainly skimpier than the spacing on my '32 L1 which is around 2 3/8" but more generous than my '42 J45 which clocks in at a narrow 2 1/8".
