Shaker
I hope that somebody can enlighten me about guitar potentiometers and capacitors. I know that these potentiometers and capacitors in most guitars work as simple RC low-pass/high-cut filters. What happens if one removes the potentiometers and capacitors so that the whole wide-band pickup output signal goes out to an amplifier. If one need to “color” the tone, a graphic equalizer will confer much greater versatility?
1992mustang
I am not an expert on the subject, but there are benefits to a "pot" bypass. Fender has a pot that bypasses at the "10" position to give a straight signal path. Of course, the capacitor is another issue. The thing is, having fingertip control over your tone with the tone pot, rather than running to the amp to make adjustments, is gonna be what you sacrifice.
