Well, even if it does have a slight negative impact to use the tape (which I doubt), you will be glad when new technology comes around and you can actually get the KandK out of your guitar to fit the next best thing. I learned the hard way that pickups are really only good for five to ten years before sounding pretty dated. Don't change the guitar for the sake of a pickup - and don't use super glue!!!
