daveinspain
Hi everyone, I don't usually come around these parts but I have been playing my non Gibson acoustic more lately because I have an opportunity to play with some friends but they want me to bring my acoustic. The guitar I'm going to bring to the jam is a Takamine... It's ok, nothing great but sounds ok and seems to be well made. What I am noticing lots of buzz in the first position open chords. Seems I really have to hit the notes dead on to not get the buzz. I have another acoustic, non Gibson also but a very well made Spanish guitar that doesn't buzz nearly as much, at times not at all. Aside from improving my technique what might I look at on the Takamine to try and clean up the buzzing? I know on my electrics I can adjust the bridge height but acoustics seem to be set and that's it. Any suggestions would be great... And I know I should get a Gibson acoustic but I see that happening a bit further down the road... Thanks
guitarstrummer
You might want to try and adjust the truss rod, if you know how to do it. It should probably take a 5mm allen wrench and is accessed through the sound hole on the base of the neck.
daveinspain
Ok thanks, I'll give it a try... Seems to be mostly on the low E and A string.....
