I'm talking about the ones with the open coil pickups and the faded sunburst unfinished tops, they came with 50s and 60s necks and I think you had a choice of cherry sunburst, tobacco and honeyburst. I've recently seen one for sale that has a date of October 2009, but I thought Gibson stopped making these guitars by 2008 if not earlier. Can anyone help. Hector Arcadius Posted December 30, 2009 Share Posted December 30, 2009 Hey mate, It was previously discussed in the forums, since one member (if I'm not mistaken, that was Lowdown) bought one with a serial number that indicated that it was produced in 2009. As we were notified by Gibson, although they stopped producing those, in a massive scale that is, in 2008, every now and then they run a limited number and they market it through some special retailers.
