mja155
This song is called Ocean by John Butler trio. Heard of it? If you haven't then I seriously suggest that you check this song out. Its in open C tuning, and took me about 4 - 5 months to fully get the hang of. In terms of learning it, I did it by ear but I loved the song so much that playing it over and over wasn't a problem for me. Check out my cover and tell me what you think. cheers
Lowdown
mja - I think that is excellent mate! Now what I wanna know & hear is - YOUR STUFF! If you can replicate JB's style (and you do know you're using an extra string compared to him-overkill)then I wanna hear YOU. Also...you've gotta work on the dynamics (ask Axe[biggrin] ) Oz all the way mate...
freak show
Nice job! Recently, I got a chance to see two guitarists from your part of the world: Derrin Nauendorf and Jaimi Faulkner, both are incredible players. Do you guys have something special in the water down there???

mja155
Yea it turns into tui in NZ (Best beer in the world!). I'm actually using 4 strings less than he does. I used to have 12 strings on the sucker but they've slowly broken, so the 1st string is actually the 2nd 3rd string (sucks being a student). I've never really taken the time to really write a song I sort of just **** around in open C. Might give it a go though. Kiwis all the way bro...
