deepblue
My daughter bought herself an Ovation acoustic guitar. Not a bad guitar, but the strings are a little too high. Im not an acoustic guy by any means, so ill ask you lads. How do you lower the action on acoustics?
Blackie
By putting that one down and picking up one with lower action...........or maybe by filing the saddle slots lower.......also if able take most of the relief out of the neck by tightening the truss rod. duane v
Take it to a good tech.... I've been playing acoustics at the local music stores, and nothing plays nearly as nice as my 1950 Triumph archtop.
milod
In theory this is where you take out the bridge saddle and file it down. Except... My old (mid 1970s) Ovations were made with spacers under the AE bridge that you could add to or subtract from for the action height you want. In any case, it's a matter of taking the strings off and messing with things. I did that with my first - immediate - string change on purchase. If you're too unsure, definitely take it to a tech. m
