Fixr1984 Posted March 16, 2010 Share Posted March 16, 2010 So I was messing with my 85 Studio custom, I wanted to change my volume pots to 500k. When I pulled the bridge pots out I checked them the volume was already 500k but for some reason the tone pot is 100k. I rechecked all the other pots and they are all 500k. The pot code shows it to be a CTS 1985 pot. The brand and year are correct but why is this one the wrong value? Factory mistake? Someone early on change out the pot to get a different sound?
