Noo!! My Big Muff stopped working!

I just plugged in my Big Muff for the first time in a while and there is a very loud hum sound.

 

It seems like some kind of grounding issue because when I touch the metal switch the hum changes.

 

I opened it up to see if anything obvious is wrong and I can't tell what the hells going on in there. This is a major bummer because I really love this pedal.

 

For $40, I have to say it has served me well. I have played this thing HARD. It lived a very rock n roll life.

 

I hope I can fix it.

 

I'll have to look inside again tommorow when it's sunny. These electronics are a little over my head.

When you look at it again be sure to check all the wires and connectons from the in and out jacks. A lot of times this is where a problem

will occur just to normal use over time.

I'm telling you this thing has been around the block a few times. I'm not all that surprised.

Ive never been able to get the bottom panel open on a Boss. The screws are so tight that then I try to unscrew them they just start stripping.

 

I'm gonna check out the Muff today.

Try a Qtip with alcohol. Rub it on the jack, on the inside and out. I'm at the beach, and I have to do this alot.
