I much prefer the burstbuckers in my R0 to the ceramic humbuckers in my les paul classic so i was thinking about putting some BB's into the classic. Will this be a simple swap? Sizes match? etc and which burstbuckers would you recommend? I think the R0 has burstbucker#1 in the neck and BB#2 in the bridge but i wouldnt mind some feedback on the other BB's and how they differ. Thanks all! First introduced in the early 1990s, the Gibson BurstBucker™ — Types 1, 2, and 3 — successfully captured the subtle variations of true, classic humbucker tone with historically “unmatched” bobbin windings and Alnico II magnets. They produce an airy, full tone, and when overdriven they achieve a magical distortion with the slightly enhanced highs that made the originals famous. BurstBucker™ Type 1 features a lower output, excellent for the neck position. BurstBucker™ Type 2 features medium output, and is perfect for both positions. None of the BurstBuckers™ are wax potted, and all feature vintage braided two-conductor wiring" Basically the BB1 is underwound, BB2 is kinda average, BB3 is overwound. non are wax potted. All have Alnico 2 magents. Another alternative is BB Pro. Potted for less squeal and have Alnico 5 magnets. These are found in current LP Standards.
