Can anyone tell me what my J-50 sold for new. The serial # indicates it was made in 1973 - 75.

The MSRP back in 1973 would have been about $300.00 more or less. I bought a J-50 in 1966 and paid $150.00 for it. Ahhhh inflation!

How do I go about reading the serial number on my 1969 J-50. The breakdown on the Gibson site doesn't seem to apply to mine.

I used the Blue Book information on the Gibson website and was able to narrow mine down to '73 through '75. I contacted Gibson by phone and they told me the same thing. Obviously the serial numbers back then were not real specific to the year. Wish I could help you with more information but thats all I know.
