andredelong
I have a 1973 (I thinbk) j-45/50 Serial #06149743 Under the serial number by the tuners the word SECOND is stamped Am correct in thinking its a 1972 and what is the significance of the wor=dSECOND? Would any one dispute a vbalue of $1200 to $1700?
deepblue
Second means a possible flaw, probably cosmetic.
pohatu771
"Second" indicates a flaw. $1200 to $1700 is a bit steep, in my opinion, for what the guitar is. The 70s models were significantly different than the guitar that we consider a J-45 today, and 60s models sell for less than that quite often. That's about how much you can get a Bozeman J-45 for, used. [EDIT] Prices seem to have gone up since I bought my J-45 six months ago... but I still wouldn't pay that much for a 70s acoustic, unless it was perfect.
